Data Formats
UnityMail comes with the Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE) database and will also work directly with your existing Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle Relational Database, and can be exported to .csv format.
Database Security
UnityMail creates tables in your database using Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) and stores configuration data in its own local database. To protect and secure your valuable information, administrators can:
  1. Create manager accounts that selectively assign the rights to view, send, or create user information and content.
  2. 2. During implementation, establish an account for UnityMail to use when connecting to the SQL Server or Oracle database. This allows for better tracking and restriction on what data can be exposed to the e-mail application.
  3. 3. Configure UnityMail to use with your firewall so that only specific ports are open for UnityMail to send e-mail and receive HTTP traffic.
Message Formats
UnityMail lets you send messages as either regular text with the HTML version as an attachment or both text and HTML formats (If the subscriber's e-mail client can display HTML mail, your message automatically opens in HTML format. If the client cannot display HTML mail, your message opens as regular text).

UnityMail gives you the ability to create a filtered list of AOL subscribers only. You can send messages to the list using either the older Rich Text Format or simplified HTML. It's worth noting that AOL now properly incorporates the MIME standard in AOL 6.0 and its Web-based client, both with high rates of use.

Application Programming Interface
UnityMail Software Development Kit (SDK) interface uses ActiveX automation, HTTP protocols, or e-mail commands.
Message Priority
UnityMail has a built-in priority scale for different types of messages. These priorities can be altered and managed by an administrator.
